THE STORY BEHIND HAIR REMEDIES

Hair Remedies began with a problem I couldn’t ignore.

After having my children, I experienced significant hair shedding and thinning. At first, I thought it was simply postpartum hair loss and that, with time, my hair would eventually return to how it was.

But more than two years later, it still didn’t feel the same.

When my doctor mentioned alopecia, I was devastated. It made me take my hair concerns more seriously and start looking for different ways to care for my hair and scalp.

I tried lotions and serums, but I quickly realised they weren’t for me. I didn’t want oily roots, residue or another step to remember every day, and I wasn’t looking for anything medicated. I just wanted something simple and botanical that fitted naturally into my routine: wash, rinse and go.

That search eventually led me to the herbal shampoo bar that inspired Hair Remedies. It was exactly the kind of simplicity I had been looking for, and over time, I began seeing a difference in my own hair.

That experience is what made me want to share it with others.

I know how upsetting it can be when your hair changes and you don’t know what to do next. While every person’s hair journey is different and results will vary, I wanted others to have the opportunity to try the simple routine that became such an important part of mine.

And that’s how Hair Remedies began.

Simple hair care, inspired by a real journey.

THE HERBAL ROOTS BEHIND THE BAR

Long before bottled shampoos and elaborate hair routines, plants played a central role in traditional hair and beauty rituals throughout Asia and Central Asia.

Usma (Isatis tinctoria) holds a longstanding place in Uyghur and Central Asian traditions. Fresh Usma was traditionally prepared and applied to the hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes as part of beauty and hair-care rituals intended to nourish the hair follicles.

Biota leaf (Platycladus orientalis) stems from a distinct tradition. Known as Ce Bai Ye in traditional Chinese medicine, its leaves have been used for centuries and are documented in traditional Chinese herbal texts for supporting hair and scalp health, strengthening hair, and reducing shedding.

Two Traditions, One Modern Bar

Usma and Biota did not begin as one ancient shampoo recipe.
Each comes from a distinct herbal tradition, with its own history.

Our Herbal Shampoo Bar brings these botanicals together in a convenient solid format. This taking inspiration from traditional botanical hair care and adapting it for a simple, modern routine.

Bring them into your routine, give them time, and experience the combination for yourself.

Use consistently, give it time.
Let the botanicals speak for themselves.

Rooted in tradition.
Made for modern hair care.
